"And now, my sons, remember, remember that
it is upon the rock of
our Redeemer,
who is Christ,
the Son of God,
that ye must build your foundation;
that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds,
yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea,
when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you,
it shall have no power over you
to drag you down to
the gulf of misery and endless wo,
because of the rock upon which ye are built,
which is a sure foundation,
a foundation whereon if men build
they cannot fall."
– Helaman 5:12
Great photos - goes well with the Word
ReplyDeleteIt's too easy to focus on the storms and not on the Rock.
ReplyDeleteFor in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5 NIV84
Great observation Michelle. That is so true. Keeping our focus on the Lord rather than the waves around us is key!

We sang a song as children, Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ and your house will stand. The foolish man built his house on the sand and when the storms came it fell. There were motions and it still is a great song.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my kids learned a similar song at church when they were little - "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man."
DeleteJean, thank you for linking up with my post! I want to say that while I don't agree with the Mormon theology I DO agree that Jesus Christ is the one and only answer. Thanks again for linking up.
ReplyDeleteEileen, you have hit the nail on the head. All Mormons would agree with you that Jesus Christ is the one and only answer - his atonement has provided us with eternal life and the opportunity to come back into God's presence after this life. Without his love and grace, we wouldn't stand a chance.
DeleteI welcome you to share your stories at Tell me a Story. Yes, Jesus is our only foundation and on him we can safely place our trust. I love your pictures that illustrate your story! Good choice!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Good "Word" and wonderful photos that are perfectly displayed. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illustration of God's protection and provision and faithfulness. He is my Rock, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with WIP Wednesday!

I like the analogy of the ROCK, and have used that Name for God on my rocks, in painting God's names on rocks on my Rock4Today blog.
ReplyDeleteGood pictures to illustrate a great truth. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
While I don't agree with your theology I do agree that our faith must be built on the rock of Jesus Christ, our SURE foundation. Reminds me of the song we sang as children "The wise man built his house upon the rock....!" Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday and hope that you're not melting in the heat!
DeleteBeautiful photographs to showcase God's encouraging words. So thankful for the rock that is steadfast and sure!
